Step 2. Configure your Salesforce organization
After installing the Plauti Deduplicate for Salesforce package, a couple of buttons and checkboxes need to be added to your Salesforce environment. This guide describes the configuration of the Lead, Contact and Account object. To configure Plauti Deduplicate for your custom Objects, please see this guide.
Add custom buttons to page layout
As part of configuring Plauti Deduplicate for Salesforce, add the 'Deduplicate Check' and 'Deduplicate Convert' buttons to your page layouts. You will need them when working with Plauti Deduplicate!
Lead Object
Go to Salesforce Setup > Object Manager > Lead > Page Layouts.
Click on Lead Layout.
Click on Mobile & Lightning Actions.
Drag and drop the Deduplicate Check button in the Page Layout.

If you cannot drop the 'Deduplicate Check' button anywhere, first click Override the predefined actions in the 'Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions' block.
:::Still in Mobile & Lightning Actions, drag and drop the Deduplicate Convert custom button in the Page Layout. If you see two 'Deduplicate* *Convert' buttons, hover over them with the cursor to reveal the full button name. Pick the button named dupcheckDCConvert.

Click Save.
Account and Contact Objects
Navigate to Salesforce Setup > Object Manager > Account > Page layouts.
Click on Account Layout.
Click on Mobile & Lightning Actions.
Drag and drop the Deduplicate Check button in the Page Layout.

Repeat for the Contact Object.
Add Deduplicate Merge button to List Views
Add the 'Deduplicate Merge' button to a list view. This lets you merge duplicate records from a list view after selecting at least two records.
Navigate to (Salesforce's) Setup > Object Manager > Lead > List View Button Layout.
At List views, click Edit.
Under Custom Buttons, add the Deduplicate Merge button to Selected Buttons.
Click Save.
Repeat for Account and Contact.
Enable Deduplicate Entry
We recommend enabling Deduplicate Entry as well. Deduplicate Entry is a replacement entry page that you can use instead of the native Salesforce entry page. It shows duplicates while creating or editing the record. You will immediately see if there are any duplicates of the record you are creating.
